Ochorowicz’s opinion.Julian Ochorowicz (1850–1917) was a Polish philosopher, psychologist, inventor, poet and publicist. He was known as a leading exponent of Polish Positivism. He studied natural sciences at Warsaw University, graduating in 1871. He subsequently studied at Leipzig University, in 1873 received his doctorate there. From 1876 to 1881 he was the assistant professor (docent) of psychology and natural philosophy at Lviv University. In 1882 he left Lviv and went to Paris to continue his studies. After he returned to Poland he popularized the newest achievements in psychology, but his work aroused violent criticism in the medical environment because of the results of his research concerning the success of hypnosis in curing.Julian Ochorowicz wanted psychology to become closer to pedagogy. He published many articles concerning the vast possibilities of applying psychology in education and teaching. According to the author’s article still up-to-date information in his publications, articles and books is a valuable source for parental guidance for teachers and parents. ER -
