PERSONALITY-INDIVIDUAL APPROACH AS A CONDITION FOR SUCCESSFUL PREVENTIVE WORK WITH DIFFICULT TEENAGERS

Abstract

The article deals with the problem of ensuring the success of preventive work with difficult teenagers. The attentionis is laid onto factors of deviations in children’s behavior such as emotional instability, inadequate self-esteem, the underestimation of the danger and risk hankering, suggestibility, aggressiveness, and so on. The reasons for teenagers’ underestimating of the situational risk of subjective willingness to undergo and submit to outside influence, behavior or action, that is aimed at drawing psychological or physical harm or destroy something. The work experience is highlighted and the recommendations for the establishment of a coherent interaction between a teacher and difficult teenagers are given. The attentionis also focused on the particular features of temperament and character accentuation in preventive work, which may adversely affect the socialization of the teenager’s personality. It is proposed to follow such strategies for the preventive work with a deviant teenager: providing advice, identifying the problem, explain why the change of behavior in a positive way is important; removal of obstacles; software slection; reduction of craving; expression of sympathy; providing feedback; explanation purposes; active help. The method of persuasion will be effective on the condition of the teacher’s deletion of the moment of surprise in achieving the educational goal; the selection by a teacher of moral judgments, which the pupil will certainly agree. The activities of the teacher should be directed onto the formation of methodical system, which provides the moral perfection of the teenager’s individuality growing up, which will provide voluntariness in taking corrective influence on it.
