FEATURES OF THE FUTURE MASTERS’ OF SCIENCE IN NURSING (MSN) PROFESSIONAL TRAINING IN UKRAINE

Abstract

This research has reviewed current theory and practice of professional education of prospective Masters of Science in Nursing in a medical higher education institution, allowing fi nding this issue insuffi ciently developed in its theoretical and methodological dimensions. The results of the scientifi c search allowed distinguishing the features and trends of innovation in training of Masters of Science in Nursing. These features include taking into account the andragogical principles of nursing education, reliance on individual educational trajectories, expansion of specialities for practical and research and academic training within the Master’s program, the need for active research in the fi eld of Nursing and integration of scientifi c research practice into the teaching process. The trends include introduction of innovative educational technologies (based on modern informational and telecommunication modalities), media emphasis (improvement of means to collect, store and propagate information), computerization (improvement of means to search and process information) and intellectualization (development of abilities; perception and production of information).
